The official website of The Rising of the Shield Hero and Kadokawa have released a new trailer for the third season of the popular isekai anime, and it features the protagonist Iwatani Naofumi in his epic adventures with his companions. The trailer also highlights the anime's spectacular fantasy elements and action-packed scenes, and it looks like the Shield Hero will be having a lot of intense battles in the upcoming season.

Studio Kinema Citrus is in charge of the animation of The Rising of the Shield Hero Season 3, with Hitoshi Saga as the director. The theme songs are SIN by Mad Kid as the opening theme, and Suki ni Nate wa Ikenai Riyu by Chiai Fujikawa as the ending theme. Keigo Koyanagi is in charge of both the scriptwriting and series composition, while Kevin Penkin is the composer of the third season's music.
The Rising of the Shield Hero is based on the light novel series by Aneko Yusagi with Seira Minami’s illustrations, and Season 3 will adapt the Rebuilding arc and the Fallen Heroes arc, which are based on the tenth, eleventh, and twelfth volumes of the light novel series. Season 1 of the anime adaptation aired from January to June 2019 with a total of 25 episodes; and the second season aired from April to June 2022, and it consisted of 13 episodes. Media Factory has been publishing the light novel series, and the manga adaptation by Aiya Kyu since 2014.

Crunchyroll provided the official synopis for The Rising of the Shield Hero anime:
Iwatani Naofumi, a run-of-the-mill otaku, finds a book in the library that summons him to another world. He is tasked with joining the sword, spear, and bow as one of the Four Cardinal Heroes and fighting the Waves of Catastrophe as the Shield Hero. Excited by the prospect of a grand adventure, Naofumi sets off with his party. However, merely a few days later, he is betrayed and loses all his money, dignity, and respect. Unable to trust anyone anymore, he employs a slave named Raphtalia and takes on the Waves and the world. But will he really find a way to overturn this desperate situation?
The first two seasons are now available to stream on Crunchyroll, and Season 3 is scheduled to premiere on October 6, 2023.
