After over a year of waiting, Noofumi, Motoyasu, Ren, and Itsuki return for another epic adventure in The Rising of the Shield Hero Season 3. To hype up the legendary heroes’ major comeback, the anime has been dropping new updates, including the new season’s home media release, broadcast details, and episode count.
Based on the Japanese dark fantasy light novel series by Aneko Yusagi, it was originally published as a web novel before being handled by Media Factory with an expanded storyline featuring the illustrations of Seira Minami. It was then adapted into a manga by Aiya Kyū and an anime by Kinema Citrus. Now, The Rising of the Shiel Season 3 is about to come.
The anime’s official website has dropped the latest update about the upcoming new season's Blu-ray & DVD release. It comes in two varieties: a special edition, which comes with a limited-edition tapestry and an acrylic panel drawn by the original character designer Seira Yanami, and a regular one. The Volume 1 special edition, which contains Episodes 1 to 4, will be released on January 24, 2024, for 20,900 yen, while the regular is priced at 14,300 yen.
Volume 2, which contains Episodes 5 to 8, will be priced at 14,300 yen and released on February 28, 2024. It will then be followed by Volume 3, featuring Episodes 9 to 12, which will be for sale for the same price of 14,300 yen and released on March 27, 2024. This announcement just reveals that The Rising of the Shield Hero Season 3 will feature 12 episodes.
For fans who want to reserve early, the anime will give away colored paper with illustrations by Yanami on a first-come, first-served basis. This can be done at a participating store, starting September 13 and running until stocks last. For more details, you can visit the anime's official website.
When will The Rising of the Shield Hero Season 3 be released?
The Rising of the Shield Hero Season 3 will be released on October 6. It will be seen at 9 PM JST on AT-X, 10:30 PM JST on Tokyo MX, Midnight JST on Sun TC, 2:05 AM JST on TV Aichi, 11:30 PM JST on KBS Kyoto on October 7 and 2:30 AM JST on BS Nippon TV on October 8. Its repeat broadcast will be every Tuesday at 9 PM JST and Thursday at 3 PM JST.
The new season can also be streamed on Lemino every Friday at 10 PM JST and on d anime store at 10 PM JST, both on October 6. The anime promised to announce other streaming services soon.
