The Rascal Does Not Dream Season 1 Blu-ray box set mistakenly listed the English dub for the supernatural anime, according to Aniplex of America, who issued a statement confirming the error. The Blu-ray edition of the first season and the Rascal Does Not Dream of a Dreaming Girl film was released on November 14, 2023, and its label showed that it features English audio, but that turns out to be an error as Aniplex said that the disc doesn't feature one.

Aniplex reminds customers to contact Crunchyroll support if they have any concerns or questions regarding the purchase, and those who purchased the release at Anime NYC should reach out to Aniplex directly.

"Please know that providing our customers with only the highest quality products and a gratifying experience is our utmost priority," Aniplex wrote in the statement. "We will be sure to take extra measures to make sure that such errors don't happen again in the future."

Before Aniplex released the statement, anime fans who bought a Blu-ray copy of Rascal Does Not Dream anime have recently spoken up about the lack of English dub on social media. The media company hasn't announced any plans to release an English dub at the time of this writing, but we will update you here once we get an official update.

What is The Rascal Does Not Dream about?

Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai (Seishun Buta Yarou wa Bunny Girl Senpai no Yume wo Minai) is based on a light novel series written by Hajime Kamoshida and illustrated by Keji Mizoguchi. The ongoing series started serialization in April 2014 and as of today, 11 volumes have been released. The manga adaptation of the series was illustrated by Tsugumi Nanamiya, and ran from December 2015 to 2018. Studio CloverWorks animated the 13-episode anime adaptation, as well as the sequel film titled Rascal Does Not Dream of a Dreaming Girl. Another sequel film, Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai, was released in June 2023, and the Rascal Does Not Dream of a Knapsack Kid film followed this month. The anime series will continue the story with the adaptation of the recently announced University Arc.
