Most, if not all, fans are aware that there have been a lot of shakeups in the Marvel Cinematic Universe lately, which include delays of a recently announced series and movies. So, it is quite not surprising that it has also affected the imminent film in some ways.

Marvel Studios confirmed The Marvels in 2019 and was originally scheduled for release on July 8, 2022, then was later moved to November 11, then February 2023, then July 28, 2023, and finally November 10, 2023. Fans believe that this could be the final date because the third Ant-Man movie already took the February slot.

Speculations are rife that the change of dates was reportedly due to the comprehensive post-production work needed for The Marvels movie. Based on history, fans should keep their fingers crossed and hope that things will push through come November.

Carol Danvers last appeared in the post-credits scenes of Ms. Marvel and Sang-Chi and The Legend of The Ten Rings. Imani, for her part, will come back as Ms. Marvel, which she portrayed in the MCU series Ms. Marvel.

Maria Rambeau will also be the main character in The Marvels movie. To recall, her last appearance was in Wanda Vision, but fans might have seen a younger version of her Captain Marvel as Maria Rambeau’s daughter. Samuel L. Jackson is also returning as Nick Fury, while Zawe Ashton is cast as the new villain in the imminent film. Hallyu star Park Seo Joon is also confirmed to join the MCU in an unannounced role.

The official synopsis for The Marvels states that Carol Danvers has defeated the Kree and destroyed the Supreme Intelligence, leaving her with the burden of trying to bring peace in the destabilized universe. When her quests lead her into a wormhole, her powers and that of Ms. Marvel and her estranged niece, Captain Monica Rambeau, become entangled, which causes them to switch their bodies whenever they use their abilities. The trio is then forced to work together to save the universe as The Marvels.

Here is the official plot synopsis for The Marvels:

“Carol Danvers aka Captain Marvel has reclaimed her identity from the tyrannical Kree and taken revenge on the Supreme Intelligence. But unintended consequences see Carol shouldering the burden of a destabilised universe. When her duties send her to an anomalous wormhole linked to a Kree revolutionary, her powers become entangled with that of Jersey City super-fan Kamala Khan, aka Ms Marvel, and Carol’s estranged niece, now SABER astronaut Captain Monica Rambeau. Together, this unlikely trio must team up and learn to work in concert to save the universe as The Marvels."

It is worth noting that WandaVision hinted there is some sort of bad blood between Carol and Monica. The friction between the two primary characters could form part of The Marvels’ storyline.
