The long wait is now over. After Amazon Prime Video teased the release of a new trailer for the upcoming The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Season 2, the network finally gives a glimpse of the epic fantasy series’ return to the Second Age of Middle-earth. However, aside from revealing the new look of Sauron, as he now rises to power, it also unveils its much-awaited release date of August 29, 2024.
You can see the preview below:
The Rings of Power Season 2 trailer begins with a quick look at Halbrand. The next scene features Prince Durin IV warning everyone about the return of a powerful ancient evil. As a dark creature starts moving, Galadriel asks her army to prepare themselves. Celebrimbor then takes the scene as he looks at what appears to be a mysterious explosion from afar.
“I think he’s been here among us all along,” a woman says. From there, Sauron appears, and he’s far different from the Halbrand from the first season. The trailer starts to feature the returning characters in the second season, one after another, from Galadriel riding a horse to King Durin III trapped in the rubbles to Disa looking afraid.
As the war begins, the orcs appear, while Galadriel looks helpless and has nothing to do but scream. The forge of the Ring seems to start with King Durin holding a gold band with a huge blue stone. Later, Arondir joins the action by wielding his bow, while the next scene shows Pharazôn’s arrival, the orcs’ attack, and Sauron rising in power.
