Marvel has released the second trailer for The Fantastic Four: First Steps, and it shows Marvel's First Family back in action while giving us our first proper look at Julia Garner's Shalla-Bal/Silver Surfer. “Are you the protectors of this world?” she asks as she descends into the city. “Your planet is now marked for death.”
The full trailer also establishes the dynamic Reed Richards / Mister Fantastic (Pedro Pascal), Sue Storm / Invisible Woman (Vanessa Kirby), Johnny Storm / Human Torch (Joseph Quinn), and Ben Grimm / The Thing (Ebon Moss-Bachrach), and confirms the film's worst-kept secret: Sue Storm is pregnant. The child will, presumably, be Franklin Richards. In the Marvel comics, he grows up to become an immensely powerful mutant with psionic and reality-manipulating powers beyond most Omega level mutants.
There's also a look at Reed Richards speaking bluntly to the public, and admits he doesn't really know if Earth is safe. But, he and his team vow to protect the world from the planet-consuming Galactus. "We will fight it together as a family," Sue Storm at one point. However, Marvel Studios is still keeping the World Eater under wraps as the trailer only shows his gigantic feet at the end of the sneak peek.
