The Halloween season is near, and what’s a better way to celebrate this event than to watch a new Mike Flanagan series on Netflix? The streamer has released a new trailer for the highly anticipated The Fall of the House of Usher, featuring the horror maestro's signature touch with its eerie look.
After the success of The Haunting of Hill House and The Haunting of Bly Manor, Flanagan adds a new series to his growing TV horror universe. This time, he will be adapting Edgar Allan Poe’s 1839 short story of the same name in The Fall of the House of Usher. However, the renowned director will give it a fresh twist and reference other Poe’s classic tales.
The trailer starts with Roderick Usher saying, “It’s time.” The following scenes see the Usher family in the court, as their crime “stands stronger and darker,” and on a family dinner while discussing the so-called “threat.”
Amid everything happening, Camille suggests they should see each other often, which Victorine refuses with a dirty finger. From there, a creepy turn of events begins, with Madeline telling his brother his family is a “collection of stunted hearts.” A woman wearing a skull mask is seen entering a club, Napoleon sees something sinister in the house while lying, and Camille has a surprised look on her face.
“I’m gonna head out. I’ve got an appointment with your dad,” the mysterious woman says while transferring her mask to a burnt corpse. As one of the Usher kids dies, the family's horror is about to begin. You can check the trailer below:
