The anime adaptation of Sarasa Nagase's The Do-Over Damsel Conquers the Dragon Emperor (Yarinaoshi Reijō wa Ryūtei Heika o Kōryaku-chū) light novel series has released a new teaser trailer and shared details about its main cast. The fantasy romance anime will star Shuu Uchida as Jill and Kikunosuke Toya as Hadis. J.C. Staff is animating the series, which is scheduled to premiere this year. The main staff includes Kentarou Suzuki (Requiem of the Rose King, Kud Wafter) as the director, Atsuo Ishino (Baki Hanma Season 2 co-scriptwriter) as the series composer, and Sana Komatsu (The Rising of the Shield Hero Season 3 co-character designer) as the character designer.
What is The Do-Over Damsel Conquers the Dragon Emperor about?
The Do-Over Damsel Conquers the Dragon Emperor is based on the light novel series written by Sarasa Nagase and illustrated by Mitsuya Fuji, which began in 2020. As of April 2023, six main volumes have been published, and a short story collection was released in February 2024. The story originally started as a web novel on the user-generated novel publishing site Shousetsuka ni Narou in 2019.

From The Guillotine To Dragon Consort! Jill is sentenced to death by the crown prince, her fiancé. But just before she dies, she’s sent back in time six years to the party where their engagement had been decided. To avoid this route of ruin, Jill immediately proposes to the person standing behind her…but it’s the man who was her greatest enemy, Emperor Hadis?! Jill knows all about his future descent into evil. She quickly retracts the proposal, but the delighted Hadis takes her back to his castle and makes her a meal. The series also received a manga adaptation with art by Anko Yuzu, and it has been serialized in Kadokawa Shoten's Comp Ace magazine since July 2020, and it has been collected in six tankobon volumes. Yen Press is publishing the manga in English with the title The Second-Chance Noble Daughter Sets Out to Conquer the Dragon Emperor.
