The upcoming anime adaptation of Shin Kozuki's light novel series, The Banished Former Hero Lives as He Pleases, has revealed a new trailer, key visual, and information about its opening theme song performer, main staff as well as new cast additions. The isekai anime is scheduled to premiere on TV Tokyo and other stations in Japan in April 2024. Studio DEEN and Marvy Jack are in charge of the animation, and the trailer reveals the opening theme song by Shota Aoi, titled EVOLVE.
Shota Aoi is also voicing Allen, the protagonist of the anime. Other cast members include Minami Kurisaka, Sora Amamiya, and Akari Kito, who will play Reeds, Noel, and Henriette, respectively.

The The Banished Former Hero Lives as He Pleases anime is based on the the light novel series of the same title (Japanese: Dekisokonai to Yobareta Moto Eiyu wa, Jikka kara Tsuihosareta node Suki Katte ni Ikiru Koto ni Shita) written by Shin Kozuki and illustrated by Chocoan that began publishing in 2018 under TO Books. The series, which originally started as a web novel, received a manga adaptation by Karasurmaru, and it's currently ongoing in Comic Corona magazine.
