On Friday, Bandai Namco Filmworks has announced that the That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime (Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken) is getting a second feature film and its TV anime adaptation is getting a fourth season. The staff has released a new video to commemorate the big announcement.The third season of the popular isekai anime series concludes today with the release of Episode 24 (72nd episode of the TV anime overall). The announcement video features Rimuru Tempest in another meeting to share the big news.
The announcement shared on Tensura's official X account reads: "2nd movie and 4th anime series ❖ Production decision ❖ Special video released! A big announcement suddenly erupted from normal proceedings. The lines from Rimuru and Raphael were recorded especially for this trailer!!" That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime Season 3 premiered on April 5, and ran for two consecutive cours (quarter of a year). . Studio Eight Bit returned to produce the animation of Season 3 with director Atsushi Nakayama directing the series. Toshizo Nemoto worked on the series composition while Ryoma Ebata worked on character designs, and Takahiro Kishida was in charge of creature designs. Jin Iketagawa was the sound director while Hitoshi Fujima was the music composer.
The franchise's first film, titled That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime: Scarlet Bond was released in Japan in November 2022, and it grossed over $11 million worldwide (via Box Office Mojo). The official title of the second That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime feature film hasn't been announced yet. All three seasons of the TV anime, the first feature film, and the three-episode That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime: Coleus' Dream spin-off anime are available to stream on Crunchyroll.

That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime anime is based on the isekai fantasy light novel series of the same title (Japanese: Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken) by author Fuse and illustrator Mitz Vah, which begins with a 37-year-old salaryman named Satoru Mikami, who's stabbed by a robber and wakes up in another world. However, the hero is reincarnated as a Slime, one of the weakest Monster classes in this fantasy world.
Season 2 of the anime is based primary on the Volumes 5 and 6 of the light novel series, and Season 3 is covering the events of the next few volumes. In Volume 7, tensions escalate when Hinata Sakaguchi — the captain of the Crusader forces and the chief knight of the nation's Imperial Guard — sets her sights on the heroic Rimuru. Things get complicated when a priest that Rimuru sends to Lubelius is killed, but in Volume 8, which focuses mainly on a festival that's happening in Tempest.
