ISEKAI Chronicles is based on That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime (Japanese: Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken) fantasy light novel series by author Fuse and illustrator Mitz Vah, which begins with a 37-year-old salaryman named Satoru Mikami, who's stabbed by a robber and wakes up in another world. The free-to-play game features the story of Rimuru Tempest and various companions from the isekai series as they build up the Jura Tempest Foundation.
In addition to adapting the main story of the light novels and anime adaptation, Fuse supervised two exclusive two new stories for the game. And Mitz Vah designed some new characters for ISEKAI Chronicles.
That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime ISEKAI Chronicles was developed by ZOC and Monkeycraft for the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 (PS4), PlayStation 5 (PS5), Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC (Steam).
Both anime franchises are far from over. A fourth season of the TV anime adaptation and feature film were already officially confirmed for That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime while the second season of Frieren: Beyond Journey's End was announced after the broadcast of its first season ended earlier this year.
