Netflix has released the first teaser trailer for Terminator Zero, an upcoming co-production bringing the dark world of James Cameron's 1980s sci-fi action franchise to animation. The eight-episode series, which revolves around new characters in the Terminator universe, is scheduled to premiere globally on Netflix on August 29, 2024. The teaser trailer previews the main characters, the deadly Skynet cyborgs, and the franchise's post-apocalyptic world.
Terminator Zero is created and executive produced by Mattson Tomlin (The Batman II, Project Power), who also serves as the showrunner of the anime. The anime was directed by Japanese animator Masashi Kudo. Animation studio Production I.G., who's known for other popular science fiction anime such as Ghost in the Shell and Psycho-Pass, is in charge of the animation.

What is Terminator Zero about?
The central theme of the Terminator franchise has always been the battle for survival between the nearly-extinct human race and the world-spanning synthetic intelligence known as Skynet, and we can expect the same themes of time travel and a relentless assassin in the anime.
