Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is a 2021 DC FanDome Panel and takes place after the events of Batman: Arkham Knight. It follows Amanda Waller, also known as "The Wall", who forms a task force with Arkham inmates, whose mission is to undertake a covert operation in Metropolis.

The Suicide Squad is sent to Metropolis to investigate the supervillain Brainiac's invasion of Earth and the mind-controlled members of the Justice League.

Creative director Sefton Hill revealed that the game will continue the story threads established in the Arkham series. Characters like Penguin will appear to assist the Suicide Squad. The development team aimed to maintain their signature "superhero empowerment meets powerful gunplay" style in the new Suicide Squad gameplay.

The game is set in the once-great city of Metropolis, known as Superman's PO BOX. Hill described the cityscape as the "fifth character" in Suicide Squad, showcasing Rocksteady's love for the DC universe.

Hill also emphasized that the game's combat would feature a more extensive moveset and require greater skill mastery than the Batman: Arkham Series. Each playable member of the Suicide Squad would have their level of detail and a weapon system that evolves as the game progresses.

So far, one official gameplay trailer has been released for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. The trailer, titled 'Flash and Burn,' showcased the abilities of each character during a large-scale combat mission.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is a multiplayer action game set in an expansive open-world representation of Metropolis, resembling Rocksteady's Arkham City. The game features four playable characters, Harley Quinn, King Shark, Deadshot, and Captain Boomerang, each with unique abilities and playstyles.

Each character has access to ranged weapons, melee attacks, and special abilities, which differentiate them. Harley Quinn uses a grappling hook for agile movement, while King Shark showcases his impressive speed by running up the sides of buildings. Captain Boomerang is the fastest character, able to warp and employ speed abilities to navigate the game's open world. Deadshot uses a jetpack to traverse the environment.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League offers players both solo and multiplayer gameplay options. In solo play, players can freely switch between the members of the Suicide Squad. AI-controlled team members also support them in their missions.

For multiplayer, up to four players can join together, with friends taking on the roles of remaining squad members. The co-op experience is designed to be seamless. This allows your friends to drop in and out of the game without disrupting the overall experience.

Chris Cox previously voiced Deadshot in Arkham City and Arkham Origins, and this version of Deadshot is confirmed to be the Floyd Lawton interpretation. Debra Wilson has been confirmed as the voice of Amanda Waller, who previously voiced Waller in 2017's Batman: The Enemy Within.

Is Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League set in the Arkham universe?

This game does indeed take place in the Arkham universe, with characters like Batman and Harley Quinn being the same ones who we have seen in previous Arkham games. But strangely, there are some key differences that prevent it from being fully consistent with the Arkham background. For instance, in the Arkham Universe, Deadshot is portrayed as a black person, whereas in Kill The Justice League, he is shown to be Caucasian.

In this tweet, it's implied by Rocksteady Studios that the black Deadshot was fake, but it doesn't justify how they both have similar names and abilities.

Are Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League and Gotham Knights connected?

Although both games are set in the DC universe, the upcoming Suicide Squad is not connected to the 2022 Gotham Knights game. Both of these games are independent and tell their own stories without any overlapping or crossovers.

Will Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League have microtransactions?

It was confirmed from a test build of Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League that the game will have its own Battle Pass. In a now-deleted tweet from Andrew Marmo an image showed what appears to be the game's menu, which had a mention of a Battle Pass along with many other things.

Rocksteady Studios later confirmed through the PlayStation State of Play that the in-game Battle Pass will only contain cosmetic items and will give no real advantage to the players.

Fans are getting excited about Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League as the release date approaches near, hoping that it doesn't get delayed this time. There are a lot of expectations from this game, and we hope that it will live up to the standards of the previous Batman Arkham series.
