Studio Trigger Executive Reveals The Biggest Problem in Anime

Despite being of the the most successful over the past years, the anime industry is no stranger to current problems.

Since the rise of anime in Japan, the same thing happened to the whole industry as it began booming across the globe over the past years. Now that it is one of the largest entertainment sources of viewers around the world, the formula remains to be imperfect and there are still a lot of room to learn. This has been shared by a popular animation company, Studio TRIGGER, through their executive Kazuya Masumoto, who revealed the biggest problem of anime today.

In an anime event in Japan, an executive from Studio TRIGGER, Kazuya Masumoto, got the chance to address one of the biggest issues that the whole anime industry is currently facing and what changes happened in the past that brought everyone to the present. As reported by Gigazine, Masumoto reveals that the anime industry is a "low-wage, black industry" and considering that there are a number of shows being released each year, the popularity of the industry comes with its own decline. Masumoto has been in the anime industry since 2000 and already has more than two decades of experience under his belt on top of being a director and producer under Studio TRIGGER.

Addressing the problem is one thing and giving a solution to it is another! Whether Studio TRIGGER would spark the change in the industry remains to be unanswered but what's great is that the studio is currently in active recruitment to start with the change. Studio TRIGGER also provides to the students interested in the anime industry some answers to the possible questions that the students might raise.

What anime is next for Studio TRIGGER?

Being in the industry for more than a decade, Studio TRIGGER has already produced quality titles which has been highly anticipated every time they would release. Studio TRIGGER is best known for the anime series Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, Kill La Kill, Little Witch Academia, Promare, and more. Being one of the studios with such a distinct style when it comes to the creation of their anime series, it is exciting to see what comes next for the studio.

Studio TRIGGER is currently working on another project titled Delicious in Dungeon which is based on the manga series of Ryōko Kui. Set to release this January 2024, Studio TRIGGER now acknowledging the existing problem of the anime industry is something that, hopefully, the studio could address and from one drop in the water, change may start.
