For so long, fans have known the story of the Jedi, from the fall of the Jedi Order in Star Wars prequels to their survival in the original trilogy to their resurrection in the sequels, putting the tale of the Sith on the sideline. Sure, the Sith Order has been known for being on the dark side of the Force, but how it manages to infiltrate the Jedi has been a big question. Finally, the story of the Sith will be told in the upcoming new Star Wars series, The Acolyte.

Fans have learned little about the Sith in the Star Wars prequel trilogy, where Palpatine showed his desire to take over the Jedi. However, the three films, Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace, Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones, and Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith, failed to really elaborate the narrative behind the Sith Order and focused instead on Anakin’s romance with Padme Amidala and his eventual fall from the Jedi.

Now, viewers will finally get the chance to know more about this ancient religious order as The Acolyte will set up the prequel trilogy by telling how the Sith hid from the Jedi. Set at the end of the High Republic era, over a hundred years before The Phantom Menace, the upcoming Disney series will finally unveil the mystery surrounding the Sith and how it successfully entered the world of Jedi after the Order believed of its extinction.

The Sith has avoided detection for so long. Though Palpatine has shown how a Dark Lord like him can conceal his presence in front of the Jedi, it remains a big mystery how the likes of him can do it for a long time. The High Republic: Into the Dark novel by Claudia Gray revealed an ancient Sith shrine called the Shrine of the Depths that exists deep beneath the Jedi Temple on Coruscant. Now, all of this will finally be unveiled in The Acolyte.
