When Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order launched for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC in 2019, developer Respawn Entertainment surprised the world with the game's compelling single-player Star Wars experience that excelled in both story and gameplay. With the release of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S in 2023, Respawn built upon the foundation established with Fallen Order and further developed the story while adding new features. The sequel showed Cal Kestis grow from a traumatized boy he was in the first game into a capable Jedi Knight. Now, we know the epic story of Cal Kestis will conclude in the third Star Wars Jedi game.

According to publisher Electronic Arts, the next Star Wars Jedi game will be the final one that will be developed by Respawn Entertainment. Last year, the third Star Wars Jedi game was casually confirmed by actor Cameron Monaghan, who plays Cal Kestis in Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and Star Wars: Jedi Survivor. Although Monaghan didn't elaborate what Star Wars Jedi 3 will be about, he revealed that it will be a "big undertaking." Since then, details on what's called "Star Wars Jedi 3" have been scarce, but now, EA has broken that silence just a bit, and has shared a bit of info about Cal's next chapter.

During EA's Investor Day 2024 presentation, company president Laura Miele revealed that the next Star Wars Jedi game in will be the "final chapter" of the series. The third and final chapter is likely still in the early stages of development, so it's not surprising that only a few details about it have been shared. The only other thing revealed was the lifetime sales of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, which now reached over 40 million combined.

"Over 40 million Star Wars fans have connected with Cal Kestis and his arc of becoming a powerful Jedi," Miele divulged. "Respawn is working hard to bring the final chapter of this thrilling story to players."

Now, we know the threequel will finally wrap things up for Cal. We've known about the idea of the Star Wars Jedi series being a trilogy for a little over a year. Close to the launch of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, director Stig Asmussen revealed that the developers at Respawn always intended the series to have a total of three games. Sadly, Asmussen will not be at the helm for Star Wars Jedi 3. The director of the first two Star Wars Jedi games departed Respawn in the latter half of 2023 to establish his own studio. As of today, the director of the final Star Wars Jedi game hasn't been announced yet, but we can expect more information to be revealed in the near future.
