Update: Star Wars: Bounty Hunter remaster is out now in all platforms where it's available! You can read the original news article published on June 27 below:
Star Wars: Bounty Hunter, the 2002 action-adventure game, is getting a remastered and improved version courtesy of Aspyr, and it's set to launch across consoles and PC. In the remastered version, players will be able to unlock a new Boba Fett skin as part of an Easter egg from the original game. A trailer was also released for the new version of Star Wars: Bounty Hunter, showcasing its improved visuals:
The Texas-based developer described the remastered version as "a new title that brings the original Star Wars: Bounty Hunter to modern platforms with visual enhancements, improved environmental textures, new dynamic lighting effects, and a new flashlight tool." Back then, players complained about the lack of flashlight, so Aspyr is finally fixing this issue as the flashlight will really help players navigate areas in the game that are really dark.
Star Wars: Bounty Hunter was developed and published by Lucasarts in 2022, and it's set before the events of the prequel movie Attack of the Clones and features Jango Fett, the father of Boba Fett, as he takes on a dangerous job to hunt a Dark Jedi. Along the way, players can take other jobs while partaking in third-person combat and light platforming.
As the PlayStation blog post mentioned about the remaster, there was a low-res texture in Star Wars: Bounty Hunter that contained a secret message:“Cash in all the bounties to play as Boba.” The original game didn't have this feature, but the remaster will let players replay the game as Boba Fett after completing Bounty Hunter.
Aspyr, part of Embracer Group, recently released Star Wars: Battlefront Classic Collection, which faced multiple bugs and server issues at launch. The developer also cancelled expected DLC for Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 2 - The Sith Lords.
The remastered version of Star Wars: Bounty Hunter is set to release across Nintendo Switch, PS5, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and PC (Steam). Its price will be $19.99 (£TBA).
