The upcoming animated series Spider-Man: Freshman Year has been in production for quite some time now, but the show’s release window might be closer than you expect. The voice cast, as well as the release window for the upcoming animated series, was reportedly revealed in a new listing, and we’re all for it. Marvel Studios announced the project in 2021 as part of Disney+ Day, but some details have been revealed in the years since the show’s announcement.
Polygon Pictures is the mastermind behind this new animated take on Spider-Man, the same studio that was associated with some popular anime releases, including Netflix's Godzilla film trilogy, Pacific Rim: The Black, and more. Spider-Man: Freshman Year might just launch sometime next year.
As per a copyright listing for Spider-Man: Freshman Year with the United States government, the series might be released around November 2, 2024, with Episode 101 to be completed around December 15 of the same year. It’s important to note that these listings can change at any time. It also revealed the complete voice cast present in the show’s premiere episode.
The Voice Cast Of Spider-Man: Freshman Year
As per the same copyright listing for Spider-Man: Freshman Year’s first episode, the voice cast features some popular actors and actresses, including Hudson Thames as Peter Parker, Hugh Dancy as Otto Octavius, Eugene Byrd as Lonnie Lincoln, Zeno Robinson as Harry Osborn, Grace Song as Nico Minoru, and last but not least Kari Wahlgren as Aunt May.
In the past, Spider-Man: Freshman Year has teased that Peter Parker will enter on his own as Spider-Man in this animated series with a fresh take on the Marvel Cinematic Universe. They also confirmed that Charlie Cox will reprise his role as Matt Murdock/Daredevil, with Paul F. Tompkins playing the role of Bentley Wittman/Wizard.
So far, these are the only voice-cast additions that have been confirmed since the show’s announcement. However, this listing might change as the series is still currently in production. Let’s wait and see who else gets added!
