Spider-Man and Wolverine are teaming up once again in Marvel Comics' upcoming team-up series, Spider-Man & Wolverine. We've seen the two iconic characters join the Avengers before, but this time, they will embark on a new journey to take on a mystery that has roots in both of their pasts.
Best-selling writer and screenwriter Marc Guggenheim (X-Men Gold) is teaming up with acclaimed artist Kaare Andrews (Iron Fist: The Living Weapon) to bring us this new ongoing series featuring two fan-favorite Marvel superheroes. Andrews recently returned to the web-slinger with Spider-Man: Reign II, which featured a retired Spider-Man 30 years in the future. As for Marc Guggenheim, this would be his first time tackling a Spider-Man project. The TV producer and comic book writer always seems to find himself returning at Marvel.
Speaking to Polygon, Guggenheim shared his excitement for the series:
Spider-Man and Wolverine are probably my two favorite Marvel characters to write and among my favorites in all of comics. I wrote Peter and Logan very early in my career, so I’m particularly excited about returning to them with a great deal more of experience and skill to lend to the endeavor. Kaare Andrews and I are determined to deliver a comic book blockbuster every month, with action that never stops.
Andrews talked about his artistic influences when illustrating for the new series:
Spider-Man and Wolverine have always attracted the best artists in comics and I’m pulling from all of them. But honestly, it’s not just about individual artists—it’s about the era that shaped me. The late ‘80s and early ‘90s comics were a huge influence, and that’s where I first fell in love with the medium.

What is Spider-Man & Wolverine about?
When Polygon asked what will bring the The Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man and the Best There Is together, Guggenheim revealed: "A little something called the Janus Directory, a comprehensive database of all the undercover operatives, past and present, who have been active in the Marvel Universe. This, of course, includes Logan.”
