After the premiere of the final episode of Solo Leveling Season 1 in Japan today, the official English X account of the popular anime series has announced the second season, which is officially titled Arise From the Shadow. The 30-second announcement teaser gives viewers a look back at some of Sung Jinwoo's most intense moments from the first season and concludes with a shot of him as the reawakened hunter who has leveled up tremendously.

The original announcement tweet from the Solo Leveling EN X account was shared at midnight JST with a reminder that the the Season 2 will be streaming on Crunchyroll (which also runs the page). The tweet was deleted shortly after it was posted, presumably due to it being early as the episode had just begun airing in Japan and it hasn't been released on the streaming platform in North America. A release date for Solo Leveling Season 2 hasn't been announced yet.

The first season of Solo Leveling premiered in January 2024; Studio A-1 Pictures is in charge of the animation, adapting the webtoon (originally a web novel) by Chugong (original author) and h-goon (adaptation) with art by DUBU (REDICE Studio). The anime is being helmed by director Shunsuke Nakashige.

The Japanese and English voice cast of Solo Leveling anime includes:

  • Taito Ban/Aleks Le as Sung Jinwoo

  • Genta Nakamura/Justin Briner as Yoo Jinho

  • Reina Ueda/Michelle Rojas as Cha Hae-in

  • Daisuke Hirakawa/Ian Sinclair as Choi Jong-in

  • Hiroki Touchi/Christopher R. Sabat as Baek Yoonho

  • Banjo Ginga/Kent Williams as Go Gunhee

  • Makoto Furukawa/SungWon Cho as Woo Jinchul

  • Haruna Mikawa/Rebecca Wang as Sung Jinah

  • Dani Chambers as Lee Joohee

Crunchyroll is streaming the anime adaptation of Solo Leveling, and here's the plot description of the series:

They say whatever doesn’t kill you makes you stronger, but that’s not the case for the world’s weakest hunter Sung Jinwoo. After being brutally slaughtered by monsters in a high-ranking dungeon, Jinwoo came back with the System, a program only he could see, that’s leveling him up in every way. Now, he’s inspired to discover the secrets behind his powers and the dungeon that spawned them.
