The production team of the upcoming Solo Leveling anime has released a new trailer and key visual at Aniplex Online Fest 2023. A-1 Pictures will be in charge of the animation, with Shunsuke Nakashige as the director. It was also revealed that the anime will premiere in January 2024, but a specific date hasn't been revealed yet.

The epic trailer clearly shows the premise of Solo Leveling as it begins with the narrator telling us a that a pathway called a "gate" that connects our world to another dimension suddenly appeared, and a lot of supernatural things have happened since then. There are people who have awakened abilities, and they're known as hunters. However, the protagonist named Sung Jin-Woo is described as "the weakest hunter of mankind", and it looks like he will encounter a lot of dangerous monsters before his "second awakening".

Chugong's original Solo Leveling South Korean web-novel was first serialized in 2016 and concluded in 2017 with a total of 270 chapters compiled into 14 volumes. The series was licensed in English by Webnovel under its alternative title, Only I Level Up, and they provided the following story description:
