Just when things are getting more intense, and Sung Jinwoo’s life is now in danger, thanks to Hwang Dongsuk’s brother, Hwang Dongsoo, the anime has announced an episode delay. As the series has already released half of its 12 episodes, the anime will go on a break and feature a recap episode, Episode 7.5, titled How to Get Stronger, instead. Hence, Episode 8, titled This is Frustrating, might be delayed for a week and possibly air on Saturday, March 1.
The announcement comes after the broadcast of Solo Leveling Episode 7, Let’s See How Far I Can Go, on Saturday, February 17. The news is also shared on the anime’s official X (formerly Twitter) account. The recap episode will feature a look back at Episodes 1-7 with new narration, giving fans a quick review of Jinwoo’s journey as he slowly becomes humanity’s greatest hunter.
From an infamously weak E-Rank hunter, viewers will once again see how the System has chosen Jinwoo as its Player and how he rises in power as he levels up his strength. Solo Leveling Episode 7.5 will be released on Saturday, February 24, replacing Episode 8.
What happened in Solo Leveling Episode 7?
Warning: Major spoilers ahead. Read at your own risk.
Solo Leveling Episode 7 featured different events in Jingwoo’s life. Aside from continuing his training with the System, he also got an unlikely offer from Yoo Jinho and experienced another near-death fight. He faced the Hell’s Gatekeeper Cerberus, which earned him new skills, abilities, and information about the Elixir of Life.
After killing Dongsuk’s group in Episode 6, Jinwoo couldn’t help but question himself after being left with no choice but to kill people. But despite that, he earned immunity to intoxication, giving him another power that could help seal his rank in the hunters’ system.
The previous episode also saw him being offered a place in Jinhoo’s Strike Team, where he would participate in 19 dungeon raids for ₩30 billion. Jinhoo wanted to be a licensed guild master with the help of Jinwoo, as his father also desired to build the guild for business purposes. But as the latter questioned the real motive of Jinhoo’s father, he refused.
In addition, Dongsoo wanted vengeance for the death of his brother and had Jinwoo and Jinhoo investigated. The S-Rank hunter strongly believed that Jinwoo and Jinhoo killed Dongsuk and asked Alice about the repercussions of killing someone in another country.

You can read the synopsis below:
The anime is based on the South Korean web novel of the same title by Chugong. It started its serialization in KakaoPage in July 2016 and was later published in D&C Media’s Papyrus label in November 2016. It’s licensed in English by Yen Press. It was then adapted into a webtoon, illustrated by Jang Sung-rak (Dubu), and was first published in KakaoPage in March 2018. Its second season was released in August 2020 and ended in December 2021. It collected nine volumes published by D&C Media and was also licensed in English by Yen Press.
A-1 Pictures then produced its anime adaptation, premiering in January 2024 and releasing seven episodes so far. It will also be adapted into a K-drama, while its spin-off, Solo Leveling: Ragnarok, is set to be released in 2024, and a role-playing video game by Netmarble is now in development. The anime airs every Saturday in Japan and streams on Crunchyroll.
Solo Leveling is now getting more interesting with every episode released. That said, it’s no surprise that the episode delay gets mixed reactions, with some wanting to see the episode recap while others are already hoping to see what’s next in Jingwoo’s story.
