It looks like something bad will happen in Solo Leveling Episode 9, titled You’ve Been Hiding Your Skills. Though the previous episode saw the reunion between Sung Jinwoo and the party members he was with when they raided a deadly Double Dungeon in Episode 2, they were accompanied by prisoners guarded by Kang Teashik. However, despite the close monitoring of the inspector under the Korean Hunters Association's Surveillance Team, the preview for the upcoming episode hints that a horrific event is about to happen.
The Solo Leveling Episode 9 stills may only focus on the characters’ faces, but they’re enough to tease the intensity of their emotions due to the things that are about to unfold. One preview shows a clear view of Taeshik’s face. Aside from looking after the prisoners recruited because of a hunter shortage, he also keeps a close eye on Jinwoo due to the mysteries surrounding him.
Song Chi-yul is also back to lead the new party. With a mad look on his face, it seems something sinister has happened. Jinwoo also closely monitors everyone as he doubts the real intentions of Taeshik and the prisoners. Another still features Taeshik as he seems to look at something or someone below. For the last preview, Jinwoo’s eyes glow, hinting that something sinister has occurred and that he needs to use his power.

What to Expect from Solo Leveling Episode 9
After being reunited with Jinwoo's former party members in his first raid, the group will again raid a D-Rank dungeon in Solo Leveling Episode 9. However, they will be accompanied by Teashik, who will look after the prisoners who will also join the raid. Jinwoo, Song, Lee Joohee, and the rest of the members will continue their strategy to go on different routes. However, they will be surprised to hear one screaming and see the other members’ appearance change.

In a raid summoned by the Hunter Association, Shun was reunited with Mabuchi, Mizuki, Majima, and Hamura who had survived the Cartenon Temple, and together with Domon and the others from the Surveillance Department, they headed to conquer the D-class dungeon. Shun, Mabuchi, and Mizuki were proceeding with their strategy by dividing the route, but suddenly they heard the screams of Majima, who had chosen a different route. What I saw on my way there was a completely changed appearance of my friends.
The anime is based on the South Korean web novel of the same title by Chugong. After being serialized on KakaoPage in July 2016, it was later published in D&C Media’s Papyrus label in November 2016. Yen Press has licensed the novel in English. It was then adapted into a webtoon illustrated by Jang Sung-rak (Dubu), with the first season released in March 2018 and the second in August 2020.
A-1 Pictures then produced its anime adaptation, premiering in January 2024 and releasing eight episodes so far. A Korean drama adaptation and a role-playing video game are currently in the works, while a spin-off webtoon titled Solo Leveling: Ragnarok is set to be released in 2024.
