Following the premiere of the finale episode in Japan, the social media channels and the official website of SHY TV anime series announced that the series will be renewed for a second season. A new key visual was revealed as part of the SHY Season 2 announcement along with a new illustration from the creator of the manga series, Bukimi Miki.

Miki shared a celebratory illustration along with the confirmation that voice actors for Doki Baragaki and Inori Hallelujah, who made their debut in the finale episode, will join SHY Season 2.
Shunichi Toki will voice Doki and Saori Hayami will play Inori for the second season.
The first season of SHY anime was directed by Masaomi Andou (Astra: Lost in Space) with animation studio Eight Bit in charge of the animation. Kousaku Taniguchi was the assistant director while Yasuhiro Nakanishi (Kaguya-sama: Love Is War) wrote the script, and Yuuichi Tanaka (A Certain Scientific Railgun) worked on the character designs. Kazuto Shimoyama was the art director (Assassination Classroom) and Hinako Tsubakiyama (Sabikui Bisco) was the music composer for SHY Season 1.
What is SHY anime about?
SHY anime is based on the manga written and illustrated by Miki. The currently ongoing manga series began serialization in Weekly Shonen Champion in August 2019 and as of today, 22 volumes have been published. Yen Press holds the English license for the series, and the publisher has released the first four volumes, with the sixth scheduled to release on April 16, 2024.
