The first part of Re:Zero -Starting Life in Another World- Season 3 is coming to an end this week with the premiere of Episode 8, and it's set to conclude the Attack Arc of the anime before the second part, which will adapt the Counterattack Arc of Tappei Nagatsuki's light novel series, begins. Last week's episode saw Natsuki Subaru delivering a powerful speech to rally the citizens of Priestella in preparation for the clash ahead, setting up the conflict against the Sin Archbishops of the Witch's Cult.
Now, the official website of the anime has shared a teaser trailer and preview stills for Re:Zero Season 3 Episode 8, which is titled Someone I’ll Fall in Love With Someday, and it's expected to feature the beginning of the decisive clash between Subaru's coalition and the villainous Sin Archbishops. The episode will likely see Subaru, Emilia, and their allies as they face Capella, Regulus, and Sirius to liberate the people of Priestella. The official synopsis for Re:Zero Season 3 Episode 8 reads:
Subaru, Anastasia, and the others gather in the meeting room of the city hall. Reinhard and his group also rush in, and the discussion begins about the four demands made by the Witch Cult. While they have some understanding of the Witch’s remains, the silver-haired maiden, and the artificial spirit, they are at a complete loss regarding the Book of Wisdom—whether it even exists is unclear, leaving everyone confused. At that moment, Otto raises his hand and reveals that he is the one who brought the Book of Wisdom into Priestella.

Hidekazu Hara is directing Re:Zero Season 3 Episode 8, with a script written by Yoshiko Nakamura and storyboard by Ryuhei Aoyagi. Maho Satsuki and Hitomi Miura are the animation directors. Studio White Fox is producing the animation of Re:Zero Season 3. The opening theme song is titled Reweave, performed by Konomi Suzuki; the ending theme song NUX LOX, is performed by MYTH & ROID ED.
Where to Watch Re:Zero Season 3 Episode 8
New episodes of Re:Zero Season 3 will air every Wednesday from October 2, 2024, and they will be available to stream on Crunchyroll as they air in Japan. Re:Zero Season 3 Episode 8 is scheduled to release on Wednesday, November 20 at 7:30 AM Pacific/10:30 AM Eastern (3:30 PM BST in the UK). Season 3 has a total of 16 episodes split into two cours, so we can expect the next one to be the final episode of Part 1 this Fall 2024 anime season, while the remaining eight episodes are expected to release in the Winter 2025 anime season.
What is Re:Zero Season 3 about?
Re:Zero-Starting Life in Another World- (Japanese: Re:Zero kara Hajimeru Isekai Seikatsu) anime is based on the KADOKAWA-published light novels written by Tappei Nagatsuki and illustrated by Shinichirou Ootsuka. The third season will consist of 16 episodes, adapting the Attack arc and Coutnerattack arc with 8 episodes each. The Counterattack arc is set to premiere on February 5, 2025.

A year has passed since the liberation of “The sanctuary”, where Subaru Natsuki defeated Elsa and fulfilled his contract with Beatrice in the battle against the Great Rabbits. Emilia camp was united as they faced the royal election, and Subaru Natsuki was living a fulfilling life, but the peace and quiet came to an end with a single letter delivered by a messenger. The letter was from Anastasia, one of the candidates for the royal selection, to invite Emilia to the Watergate City of Priestella, one of the five largest cities in Lugunica. Accepting the invitation, Subaru and his party set off for Priestella, where a variety of reunions awaited them. One unexpected, one unintended, and one to come. The stirrings of malice writhing beneath the surface of the water and an unprecedented crisis loom over them. Once again, the boy faces a cruel fate.
