Re:Zero -Starting Life in Another World- TV anime just made its big return last week with the premiere of its 90-minute episode, and now, isekai fans are getting ready to see what's next for Natsuki Subaru and his friends' dark fantasy adventure. Today, the official website of the anime has shared a teaser trailer and preview stills for Re:Zero Season 3 Episode 2, which is titled Showdown of Ice and Fire, and it looks like it will continue Subaru and Emilia's conflict against the villainous Sirius Romanee-Conti, the Sin Archbishop of the Witch Cult, representing Wrath.

Subaru's life was taken without him even knowing what was going on when Sirius Romanee-Conti, Archbishop of the Witch Cult's Sin of Wrath, appeared at the Time Tower. Subaru headed to the Time Tower to stop Sirius's heinous act, and tried to rescue a boy named Lusbell who was being held captive by chains, but was suddenly overcome by an indescribable fear. As Subaru desperately tried to support himself, clutching his trembling legs, he heard the happy voice of Sirius. Sirius' chains attacked Subaru, who was consumed with doubt.

Where to Watch Re:Zero Season 3 Episode 2

New episodes of Re:Zero Season 3 will air every Wednesday from October 2, 2024, and they will be available to stream on Crunchyroll as they air in Japan. Re:Zero Season 3 Episode 2 is scheduled to premiere on October 9, 2024 at 7:30 AM Pacific/10:30 AM Eastern (3:30 PM BST in the UK), so the episode is out now. The third season has a total of 16 episodes split into two cours, so we can expect six more new episodes this Fall 2024 anime season, while the remaining eight episodes are expected to release in the Winter 2025 anime season.

What is Re:Zero Season 3 about?

Re:Zero-Starting Life in Another World- (Japanese: Re:Zero kara Hajimeru Isekai Seikatsu) anime is based on the KADOKAWA-published light novels written by Tappei Nagatsuki and illustrated by Shinichirou Ootsuka. The third season will consist of 16 episodes, adapting the Attack arc and Coutnerattack arc with 8 episodes each. The Counterattack arc is set to premiere on February 5, 2025.

The official plot synopsis for Re:Zero Season 3 reads:

A year has passed since the liberation of “The sanctuary”, where Subaru Natsuki defeated Elsa and fulfilled his contract with Beatrice in the battle against the Great Rabbits. Emilia camp was united as they faced the royal election, and Subaru Natsuki was living a fulfilling life, but the peace and quiet came to an end with a single letter delivered by a messenger. The letter was from Anastasia, one of the candidates for the royal selection, to invite Emilia to the Watergate City of Priestella, one of the five largest cities in Lugunica. Accepting the invitation, Subaru and his party set off for Priestella, where a variety of reunions awaited them. One unexpected, one unintended, and one to come. The stirrings of malice writhing beneath the surface of the water and an unprecedented crisis loom over them. Once again, the boy faces a cruel fate.
