In September 2023, it was announced that Kanekiru Kogitsune's Re:Monster light novel series is getting an anime adaptation from Studio DEEN (KonoSuba, Sorcerous Stabber Orphen). Not much details have been revealed about the upcoming isekai anime series, but the production team have released a trailer and teaser visual to get fans hyped. The voice actor of the anime's protagonist, Gob-Rou, has also been casted, so we'll share all the cast information here.

The Re:Monster light novels are written by Kanekiru Kogitsune. While Naji Yanagida illustrated the Dark Continent series, Yamaada illustrated most of the volumes of Re:Monster. The series began serialization in 2012 and as of 2017, it had 10 main volumes. Prior to the light novels, the series was published as a web novel on Shousetsuka ni Narou. The Dark Continent arc volumes started in 2018 and as of 2020, it had three volumes.

Re:Monster Trailer

The first trailer for Re:Monster has already been released, and it teases the anime's fantasy world and action-packed scenes. After all, the Gob-Rou is reborn in a fantastical world of magic and monsters, and the trailer shows him training as a goblin, so expect see a lot of intense battles in this anime.


Re:Monster Release Date

Although an exact release date or release window haven't been revealed yet, there's a good chance that the Re:Monster anime will be released sometime in 2024. Re:Monster anime premiered today, April 1, 2024. The first episode of the anime is titled Re:Born. Expect new episodes of Re:Monster to come out every Monday for the Spring 2024 anime season.

Seven Seas Entertainment, the publisher of Haruyoshi Kobayakawa's ongoing manga adaptation of Re:Monster, shared the following story description of the isekai fantasy series:

When a young man begins life anew as a lowly goblin, he forges past all obstacles with a combination of strength, smarts, and a monstrous appetite in this action-packed shonen fantasy manga! Tomokui Kanata has suffered an untimely death, but his adventures are far from over. He is reborn into a fantastical world of monsters and magic—as a lowly goblin! But Kanata, or Gob-Rou as he is now named, is not about to let that stop him. With a combination of memories from his old life, a brand new body, and a monstrous appetite, Gob-Rou thrives in this new world where he must devour other creatures to gain their powers. It takes strength, smarts, and a strong stomach to survive in this action-packed fantasy!

Re:Monster Cast

The first casting announcement for Re:Monster anime confirmed that Takuya Satou will be voicing Gob-Rou. The Japanese voice actor is known for voicing Alvin in Don't Hurt Me, My Healer!. He has also played a bunch of roles for videogame titles.

As far as casting goes, only Satou has been confirmed for Re:Monster but expect more casting updates in the near future.

It looks like Re:Monster will be one of the most exciting upcoming isekai anime shows, but at this time, the production team hasn't yet confirmed where the anime will be available to stream. Note that we we will update this article with the latest news once they more details about it.
