Rascal Does Not Dream of a Knapsack Kid has released a new trailer ahead of its December 1 theatrical release in Japan. The upcoming Japanese romantic drama anime movie was animated by CloverWorks, the same animation studio who produced popular anime shows like Spy x Family and My Dress-Up Darling. The film serves as a sequel to Rascal Does Not Dream of a Dreaming Girl and Rascal Does Not Dream of a Sister Venturing Out.

The upcoming supernatural romantic drama movie is based on the ninth volume of the light novel series Rascal Does Not Dream (Japanese: 青春ブタ野郎) written by Hajime Kamoshida and illustrated by Keeji Mizoguchi. The serialization started in April 2014 and it's currently ongoing. The series also received a manga adaptation by Tsugumi Nanamiya, which ran from December 2015 to 2018. Prior to the latest feature films, a 13-episode TV anime adaptation by CloverWorks was released.
