Netflix has ignited anticipation across global audiences with the release of the first full trailer and a sharply designed main poster for its highly awaited legal drama Pro Bono, unveiled through the official Netflix K-Content YouTube channel on November 28.

Set to premiere worldwide on December 6, 2025, Pro Bono centers on the dramatic fall and hard-won redemption of Kang Da-wit, a once-revered judge whose life of wealth, fame, and social-media stardom collapses overnight. Stripped of his position and forced to confront the emptiness of his ambition-driven existence, he reluctantly joins the non-profit legal organization Pro Bono. There, he discovers a world far removed from the polished courtrooms he once commanded: cases taken on without payment, fought solely for justice and the protection of human rights. As Kang Da-wit navigates this unfamiliar terrain, he is pushed to dismantle his ego, question his values, and ultimately redefine what it means to serve the law.

The series poignantly contrasts the lucrative defense of corporate giants with the grueling, often thankless work of defending the powerless—victims of wrongful conviction, systemic discrimination, and institutional neglect. Through the Pro Bono team’s unique model of funding public-interest cases with earnings from high-profile corporate litigation, the story explores the moral complexities of modern law practice in South Korea while delivering a deeply human portrait of personal transformation and collective purpose.

Leading the ensemble is Jung Kyung-ho as the flawed yet compelling Kang Da-wit. Known for his layered performances in Hospital Playlist, Prison Playbook, and When the Devil Calls Your Name, Jung brings magnetic intensity to a character forced to rebuild himself from the ground up. Sharing top billing is So Ju-yeon as Park Ki-beum, the brilliant and fiercely principled legal researcher whose unwavering commitment to human rights serves as both challenge and inspiration to Kang Da-wit. So, who captured hearts in Dr. Romantic 3 and Alchemy of Souls, delivers a performance of quiet strength and intellectual fire.

Rounding out the core Pro Bono team are Yoon Na-moo as the pragmatic Jang Young-sil, Seo Hye-won as the empathetic Yoo Nan-hee, and Kang Hyoung-suk as the tenacious Hwang Joon-woo. The ensemble is further elevated by Lee You-young in a key role representing the temptations of corporate law, with special appearances by Choi Dae-hoon, veteran character actor Sung Dong-il, and the legendary Kim Gap-soo adding weight to pivotal courtroom and mentorship moments.

Helmed by director Kim Sung-yoon (Itaewon Class, Love in the Moonlight) and written by Moon Yoo-seok, Pro Bono is a Studio Dragon production in collaboration with Sequence One, Lotte Cultureworks, and Studio Flow. The series will air weekly on tvN in South Korea (Saturdays and Sundays at 9:20 p.m. KST) while streaming globally on Netflix, with episodes running approximately 70 minutes each.
