One short line from Pedro Pascal is all it took to start a fresh round of Avengers: Doomsday speculation.

Avengers: Doomsday is less than two months away, and almost no dialogue from the film has reached the public. Pedro Pascal has now shared one short line his Reed Richards says in the movie, and it has started a fresh mystery about who he is saying it to.

Speaking on Variety's Awards Circuit Podcast, Pascal was asked to share a line from Doomsday completely out of context. "I'm trying not to pick the line that's in the trailer," he said, before offering his choice: "It's good to see you again."

That was all he gave. Pascal did not say who Reed is speaking to, where the line falls in the film, or anything about the scene around it.

Pascal was on the podcast mainly to discuss Behemoth!, Tony Gilroy's new film, in which he plays a cellist. The Doomsday exchange was a brief detour in a wide-ranging conversation, and the same out-of-context line challenge had earlier been put to David Harbour, who also appears in the film.

The line he avoided is already familiar from the trailers, where Reed confronts Doctor Doom and demands to know whether Doom did "this." By steering away from the trailer material, Pascal pointedly chose a line nobody has heard yet.

On its own, the greeting sounds harmless. What makes it interesting is what it implies: Reed is speaking to someone he already knows, and someone he has not seen in a while. The trailers have already established that Reed, Sue Storm and Doom share some kind of history, echoing their dynamic in the comics. Reed's screen time in the footage released so far has focused almost entirely on Doom.

That makes Doom the most obvious candidate for the line. Delivered before Reed learns what Doom has done, a warm greeting would quickly establish that the two men once had a friendly dynamic, long before they became enemies.

It is not the only possibility. Doomsday brings multiple universes together as incursions collide, which opens the door to reunions audiences have not seen happen on screen. The line could just as easily be aimed at a hero from another world entirely.

It could even stay inside the Fantastic Four. If the team has been split apart by the time Reed says it, the greeting could be aimed at one of his own, signaling a rift that has formed since the last time viewers saw them together.

For now, there is no way to know. Pascal's answer was designed to give nothing away, and Marvel's secrecy around the film means the context will stay locked down until release.
