Crunchyroll has revealed its lineup for Anime Expo 2024, and fans of the isekai genre would be excited to know that the mega streamer will be bringing a special sneak peek for the upcoming Overlord: The Sacred Kingdom movie, as well as a 90-minute first episode of Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World- Season 3 to the big event.
Anime Expo 2024 will take place from July 4 to July 7 at the Los Angeles Convention Center and will feature more than 20 panels and premieres. The streamer will debut its Summer 2024 programming slate, which includes Arifureta Season 3, MF GHOST Season 2, Narenare -Cheer for You!-, No Longer Allowed in Another World, After-school Hanako-kun, Alya Sometimes Hides Her Feelings in Russian, and Witch Hat Atelier. Crunchyroll also announced that it has acquired North American and select international rights for Bocchi the Rock! recap movies (Part 1 and Part 2).
OVERLORD: The Sacred Kingdom - Exclusive Sneak Peek
As confirmed in the official website of the highly-anticipated OVERLORD: The Sacred Kingdom movie, there will be an update presentation scheduled for Sunday, July 7, 2024. Exclusive footage will be revealed during the event. The film's voice cast, Satoshi Hino (Ainz), Yumi Hara (Albedo), Masayuki Kato (Demiurge) will be attending alongside producer Norifumi Kikushima "to deliver the latest information on the long-awaited work on the theater screen." Studio Madhouse will be in charge of the movie's animation.
Kadokawa provided a story description for Overlord: The Sacred Kingdom:
Under the leadership of Sacred Queen Calca, the Roebel Sacred Kingdom enjoyed an era of peace, protected behind their great walls. However, that peace was easily destroyed by the sudden appearance of the Demon Emperor Jaldabaoth and the attack of the Demi-Human Alliance. Though the grandmaster of Roebel Sacred Kingdom's Sacred Paladin Order, Remedios, and the high priestess, Kelart, gathered their forces to retaliate, they could not overcome the overwhelming difference in Jaldabaoth's power, and their kingdom is now on the verge of collapse. Remedios travels with her order and her subordinate, Neia, to a certain kingdom in hopes of gaining power to counter Jaldabaoth. The name of that kingdom is Sorcerer Kingdom Ains Ooal Gown. It is a grotesque nation ruled by an undead and despised by those of the Sacred Kingdom—
Re:Zero Season 3 Episode 1 Premiere (90 Minutes)
Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World- Season 3 won't begin broadcasting until October 2024, but fans of the popular isekai anime series will be able to catch the world premiere of its first episode at Anime Expo 2024. Crunchyroll confirmed that the first episode will be 90 minutes long, and that Yusuke Kobayashi, the Japanese voice actor of Subaru, will be attending the event. Studio White Fox will be animating the series.
