Today, Bandai Namco Filmworks has announced that Yū Shimizu and Makoto Aogiri's Otherworldly Munchkin: Let's Speedrun the Dungeon with Only 1 HP (Isekai Munchkin: HP 1 no Mama de Saikyō Saisoku Danjon Kōryaku) manga series is getting a TV anime adaptation. A teaser visual has been revealed for the upcoming comedy isekai anime along with the announcement of its production and its main staff.

Durandal is producing the animation of Otherworldly Munchkin: Let's Speedrun the Dungeon with Only 1 HP, with Mamoru Yokota (Kinnikuman: Perfect Origin Arc animation supervisor) as director.
Yu Shimizu, the author of the manga series, shared a comment following the announcement
I’m Yu Shimizu, the writer of the original Isekai Munchkin story. Congratulations on the anime adaptation!! This work is packed with all the fun memories of playing TRPGs during my school days. May the god of dice bless Yukito’s adventure and bring great success to the anime!
Makoto Aogiri, the illustrator of the manga, also shared a comment, expressing his excitement for the anime adaptation:
I’ve always dreamed of Isekai Munchkin becoming an anime. When my editor contacted me to say ‘the anime adaptation has been decided,’ I was so shocked that I kept saying, ‘Really?!’ repeatedly. I still remember that day vividly! (laughs) Just imagining how the scenes I drew in the manga will come to life as Yukito and his friends move, talk, and progress in their journey makes me so excited! There will be a lot of new information announced, and I look forward to enjoying this journey with all of you!

Yū Shimizu and Makoto Aogiri's Otherworldly Munchkin: Let's Speedrun the Dungeon with Only 1 HP manga was launched on Nico Nico Seiga and Kodansha's Monthly Shonen Sirius magazine's "Suiyōbi no Sirius" website in February 2019 and has been collected in ten tankōbon volumes. The eleventh volume is scheduled to be published in Japan this Friday, November 8, 2024.
Kodansha USA Publishing, which published the manga digitally, shared a story description:
16-year-old Yukito Kirihara lives with his 14-year-old sister Sana, who he treasures more than anyone else. But when an ogre shows up outside of his window looking for Sana (a shocking event in its own right), Yukito leaps to save her—and is killed. He's offered the promise of reincarnation by a mysterious woman, who gives him a character sheet in a mysterious book. But when Yukito sees Sana in there, too, he sets off to find her, and save them both—even if he only has 1 hp with which to do it!
