Update: Oshi no Ko Season 2 Episode 9 is now streaming on HIDIVE.

In Oshi no Ko Season 2 Episode 8, Kana Arima's flashback revealed that her mother had dreamed of becoming a celebrity and had tried to achieve that dream through Kana, but when she became sensitive to Kana's popularity, she often let out her frustrations on her daughter. It turned out that this was the root cause of Kana's current anxieties about her career and her tendency to want to perform well with others.

However, Aqua was able to encourage Kana, helping her unleash her true potential as an actress to deliver a brilliant performance that astounds the audience and her co-stars. While Akana fan-girled over her performance, Kaburagi said that despite Kana being famous for her ability to cry, it was her amazing performances such as this that made her remarkable.

Last week's episode also featured the climax of the play, which is Sayahime's death scene. Touki was put into the spotlight with her downfall. A quick flashback showed Aqua discussing his panic order with Akane, who told him to find the trigger, so we can expect him to do just that in the next episode.

Today, the official website of Oshi no Ko has revealed a teaser video, preview stills, and official synopsis for Oshi no Ko Season 2 Episode 9 (Episode 20 overall), which is titled Dream, and it's expected to shift the story's focus on Aqua. Although the eighth episode mostly put the spotlight on Kana, the latter half shifted to Aqua and his complicated relationship with acting. The next episode is expected to explore his darkest, deepest emotions, which will be reflected on his performance on stage as Touki battles Blade.

Aqua's real-life experience resonates with Touki's character now, with Sayahime's death reminding him of Ai's. The synopsis teases that Aqua will channel his real emotions into his acting for the play's epic finale. Thus, we can expect Episode 9 to feature highly emotional scenes, to show a grand finale to Tokyo Blade and the anime's 2.5D Stage Play Arc.
