After a mind-blowing performance and surprising redemption arc from Melt Narushima, the seventh episode of Oshi no Ko Season 2 will shift the focus of the story to the next big face-off for the spotlight between Kana Arima and Akane Kurokawa. After seeing the drama and conflict surrounding the script, the 2.5D stage play of Tokyo Blade has finally started with a bang, and the next episode will intensify the rivalry between Kana and Akane.
Today, the official website of Oshi no Ko has revealed a teaser video, preview stills, and official synopsis for Oshi no Ko Season 2 Episode 7 (Episode 18 overall), which is titled Solar, and it's expected to feature the long-awaited acting showdown between Akane and Kana, and based on the teaser trailer and preview stills, it looks like it's going to be an intense one as their different ideologies about performing arts clash along with their swords.
The seventh episode is expected to unveil the secret past between Kana and Akana, which was teased in a previous Season 2 episode when Kana teased Akane for having idolized her as a child. However, there is much more to their shared past that we haven't seen yet. The next episode will feature Akane openly challenging Kana to compete with her. Will Kana be able to let go of her insecurities to fully embrace her acting passion and give Akane a fair battle in their performance?

Studio Doga Kobo returned to animate Oshi no Ko Season 2, and the official website revealed that the main staff of Episode 7 includes Tanaka Jin on screenplay, Nishina Kuniyasu on storyboard and direction, and Nekotomi Chao and Nishina Kuniyasu on color script. Yokoyama Honoka is the chief animation director, and Hirayama Hirona is in charge of the character drawing supervision. The animation directors are Hattori Miyu, Asami Hayakawa, Shuri, Shun Sawai, Ayaka Muroga, and Mizuno Kimiaki.

What is Oshi no Ko Season 2 about?
Oshi no Ko anime is based on the manga series of the same title written by Aka Akasaka (Kaguya-sama: Love is War) and illustrated by Mengo Yokoyari (Scum's Wish). The series has been serialized in Shueisha's Weekly Young Jump while Manga Plus digitally publishes the official English version of the manga. Yen Press publishes the English physical editions of the manga.

Just like the first season, Oshi no Ko Season 2 is currently available to stream on HIDIVE, so you can watch the seventh episode on the platform when it premieres on August 14, at 11:00 pm JST on TOKYO MX, KBS Kyoto, TV Hokkaido, AT-X, BS11 TV Aichi and other networks across Japan. According to the home media release listing for the new season, there will be a total of 13 episodes released across six Blu-ray and DVD launches in Japan, and with seven episodes already out, that means we can expect 6 more new episodes to arrive in this Summer 2024 anime season.
