Netflix's official YouTube channel for its Korean titles has released the first trailer and poster for Dear Hongrang, a mystery romance period series starring Lee Jae-wook (Alchemy of Souls) and Cho Bo-ah (Destined with You). Dear Hongrang is scheduled to premiere on Netflix on May 16, 2025.

Set in the Joseon dynasty and based on Tangeum: Swallowing Gold byJang Da-hye, the historical melodrama follows Hongrang (Lee Jae-wook), the son of Joseon's most powerful merchant household. The trailer opens up with his disappearance as a child, but he suddenly returns 12 years later but with no memory of his past. His half-sister Jae-yi (Cho Bo-ah), who spent years searching for him, accuses him of being an imposter, refusing to believe he is her beloved long-lost brother. As she questions his true identity, the tension between them builds up, and he dares her to find the truth.

Upon meeting Hongrang, Jae-yi immediately accuses him of being an impostor and denies that he's her true brother, leading to a tense confrontation. The trailer concludes with a look at Hongrang fending off sinister attackers with his incredible swordsmanship and says, “You dare lay a finger upon my sister?” as he arrives to Jae Yi’s rescue.

The first poster for Dear Hongrang features Hongrang and Jae-yi's long-awaited reunion after 12 years. Jae-yi appears to suspect Hongrang, thinking that he's an impostor after he returned to the merchant family with no recollection of his past. Their tense interaction in this poster sparks curiosity about how their feelings for each other will develop.

A young Hongrang is shown below them, wandering through a dark forest, making us wonder about the drama's mystery, which is deepened in the tagline, “Your hidden secrets. Your unspoken truth." Viewers will likely be wondering if the returned Hongrang is the true long-lost brother of Jae-yi. Secrets will likely unfold throughout the highly-anticipated period series.
