Finally, five years after the end of Dragon Ball Super anime, a new Dragon Ball anime series titled Dragon Ball Daima has been announced at this year's New York Comic-Con. And to give fans their first look at this brand-new series, Toei Animation has dropped its official trailer, and it looks every inch epic.

New York Comic-Con promised to give a major update on the world of Son Goku and other Z-fighters, with many expecting it to be a new anime series. True enough, Dragon Ball Daima was unveiled, and it was dubbed as the next major anime project by Toei Animation. However, compared to other Dragon Ball series, this one is about to tell a new story that has never been told before. Of course, it's written by Akira Toriyama himself to celebrate his successful franchise's 40th anniversary.

The trailer begins by showing the Dragon Ball world throughout the years. As it reaches 2024, an intense musical score starts, making it more extraordinary. It then offers a deeper look at the multiverse, featuring the namesake artifact and Shenron, looking as magical as ever. “Now, state your wish,” he says.

From there, a montage of Goku’s scenes is seen as he returns to his younger self. The next sequence cuts to the kid versions of Goku and Vegeta, taking center stage, along with other characters like Krillin, Chi-Chi, Bulma, and Yamcha. As it next features the Kami-Sama temple, it shows a young Goku going on a new adventure as two mysterious individuals watch all these things play on the screen.

What is Dragon Ball Daima about?

So far, both Toei Animation and Toriyama are yet to release the official synopsis of Dragon Ball Daima. But according to reports, the new series isn’t based on any pre-existing manga. The trailer also shows that it will feature young Goku and Z-fighters after the two mysterious characters seemingly wish for them to return to their toddler years when asked by Shenron.

By the looks of it, they will be the series’ main antagonists. So, in Dragon Ball Daima, Goku and the rest of the gang may be seen going around the universe to find a way to return to adulthood, probably with the help of a young Kaioshin.
