It has been a long wait but it's finally happening: the live-action adaptation of Yoshihiro Togashi's beloved manga Yu Yu Hakusho is coming to Netflix this December. Not surprisingly, fans have positive reactions to the first teaser but what does the cast have to say about the footage? Not surprisingly, the four lead actors have awesome reactions to the brief tease.

On November 11, the first teaser for Yu Yu Hakusho was shared during Netflix Geeked Week 2023. However, the official Netflix Japan X account had an even better treat for fans. The account shared a video of Takumi Kitamura, Shuhei Uesugi, Jun Shison, and Kanata Hongo seeing the teaser for the first time. Interestingly, the actors had enthusiastic reactions to the teaser.

It's great to see that the main actors are loving everything about the teaser, especially since they have worked hard on the highly anticipated series. With that in mind, we can't wait to see a full trailer later this month.

What we know so far about Yu Yu Hakusho live-action series

Takumi Kitamura will play Yusuke Urameshi in the upcoming Netflix series. He will be joined by Shuhei Uesugi, who has been cast as Kazuma Kuwabara. Jun Shison and Kanata Hongo will portray the demons Kurama and Hiei, respectively.

Yu Yu Hakusho is being developed by Akira Morii and Kazutaka Sakamoto for Netflix. The screenplay for the live-action series was written by Tatsuro Mishima and the first four episodes are being directed by Sho Tsukikawa.

Back in 2020, the adaptation was officially announced by Netflix. However, it wasn't until July 2022 that the cast and crew for the show was officially announced.

The first teaser for Yu Yu Hakusho offered a glimpse at Yusuke Urameshi realizing that he is dead and is now in the afterlife. It doesn't take long for Yusuke to get called in to serve as an investigator for the supernatural and he quickly finds some allies who will help him fulfill his mission.
