Haro Aso is turning out to be a Netflix favorite. After the success of Alice in Borderland, the streamer is giving another Aso manga the live-action treatment. The first trailer for Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead has just been dropped a mere two weeks after the premiere of the anime.
Back in 2020, Netflix scored a huge hit with Alice in Borderland, the live-action series adaptation of Haro Aso's manga. The success reinvigorated interest in Aso's works and Netflix quickly snatched up the rights to produce a film based on Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead.
The trailer for Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead opens with Akira Tendo struggling to keep up with the demands of his job. That is until he wakes up to encounter a zombie and realizes that he is in the middle of a zombie apocalypse. But instead of despairing, Tendo celebrates his newfound freedom and immediately sets out to accomplish things he never got to do before he was free from any type of responsibility.
Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead will star Eiji Akaso as Akira Tendo, Mai Shiraishi as Shizuka Mikazuki, Shuntarō Yanagi as Kenichiro Ryuuzaki, and Kazuki Kitamura as Gonzo Kosugi. It will be directed by Yusuke Ishida and feature the song HoriZOM by Ren. The movie will premiere on Netflix on August 3, 2023.
The live-action adaptation was announced on Netflix's Geeked Week back in 2022 but we haven't heard any updates on the film since then. Meanwhile, the anime was announced in January this year and quickly premiered on July 9, 2023. The anime is currently in its second week.
Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead Episode 3 is titled Best Friend of the Dead ("Besuto Furendo obu za Deddo") and will premiere on Sunday, July 23, 2023.
