Netflix's One Piece Series Gives Helmeppo a Major Makeover

Are you one of the hundreds of fans simping over hot Helmeppo in the latest One Piece teaser?

We're only over a week away from the premiere of the live-action One Piece series and we're learning new things about the upcoming adaptation every day. For instance, the latest teaser for the show features more footage and offers a glimpse at the Eiichiro Oda characters who will debut later this month. But one character who is gaining a lot of attention is Helmeppo, thanks to the amazing makeover by the Netflix series.

Earlier this month, we got our first glimpse at the supporting characters who will appear in Netflix's One Piece show. Not surprisingly, Helmeppo was overlooked because of his admittedly dorky bob and general look when he was just a cadet.

But things change and glow-ups (or glow-downs?) are real in the One Piece Universe. The latest teaser for the upcoming adaptation offers a glimpse at Helmeppo as he encounters Roronoa Zoro and, to put it mildly, HE LOOKS GOOD.

No, seriously, that's Helmeppo and he never looked better. Even fans who have seen the new One Piece teaser are blown away by how good he looks in the series.

It's still astounding to know that Helmeppo underwent an awesome makeover and we're wondering if he will play a larger role in the first season. On the other hand, that might mean we'll be stuck with the other look given to him by Zoro. Still, we're already looking forward to seeing more of Helmeppo next week.

Who is Helmeppo in One Piece?

Lieutenant Commander Helmeppo is an esteemed Marine officer, distinguished by his transformation from a civilian who shamelessly leveraged his father's position. His father, the infamous ex-Marine Captain "Axe-Hand" Morgan, cast a long shadow. Alongside his companion, Koby, Helmeppo underwent rigorous training under the mentorship of Vice-Admiral Garp, paving the way for them to evolve into full-fledged servicemen. He currently holds the esteemed rank of lieutenant commander within the Marine organization.
