October 10 marks the birthday of one of the most iconic manga/anime characters ever created — Naruto Uzumaki. To celebrate his birthday, the official YouTube channel of Shonen Jump has released a new trailer highlighting Naruto's journey to become Hokage and his unforgettable battle with Sasuke Uchiha at the Valley of the End. The series based on the manga by Masashi Kishimoto is celebrating its 20th anniversary with a new four episode anime, which was recently delayed due to quality issues.

Two more special videos will be released for Naruto: the next will be released on October 11 and will focus on a comparison between Naruto and Sasuke. The last video will be released on October 12, and it will be titled Rasengan.

The Naruto series began serialization in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump in September 1999 and continued the story until November 2014. 72 volumes have been published, and the anime adaptation from Studio Pierrot started airing in October 2022. The original series was followed by a sequel titled Naruto Shippuden, which consisted of 500 episodes.

The Boruto manga series, originally written by Ukyo Kodachi with Masashi Kishimoto taking over the series later on, started in the Weekly Shonen Jump in 20216 but moved to V Jump in 2019. The anime adaptation from Studio Pierrot started broadcasting in April 2017. The sequel series is centered on Naruto's son, Boruto.

New episodes of Naruto air over four weeks at a currently unannounced schedule with FLOW returning to perform the opening and ending themes of the anime. Series creator Masashi Kishimoto will be involved in the Naruto 20th Anniversary Special, but plot details are still being kept under wraps. The teaser poster VIZ Media revealed gave us an idea of where the new episodes will take place in the Naruto timeline. The poster shows Naruto, Sasuke, Sakura, and Kakashi as they appeared in the original anime series. This means that the special likely takes place before the events of Naruto Shippuden.
