After a long wait, Toho Animation has finally given a glimpse of the much-awaited fourth My Hero Academia movie, My Hero Academia: You’re Next. After being announced in August 2023, fans have been highly anticipating this next film, along with the upcoming My Hero Academia Season 7. The anime has released the official trailer for You’re Next, giving a good look at Deku’s next action-packed adventure and a new All Might. You can see the preview below:

The My Hero Academia: You’re Next trailer features a bloody All Might, unleashing all his strength while beating an enemy and leaving the place in ruins. Deku then goes into action as he oversees the spot, while he’s next seen with Ochaco Uraraka, Hanto Sero, and Mashirao Ojiro. The following scene features Katsuki Bakugo making a declaration while Mina Ashido, Fumikage Tokoyami, Koji Koda, Rikido Sato, and Eijiro Kirishima are listening behind him while enjoying their meals.

As the scene again shifts to a commotion happening in the streets, a dangerous event begins that sees both the heroes and the people struggling to survive. Later, a masked man with a blue cape appears while watching them having a hard time, while Shoto Todoroki, with his fellow hero students, watches in horror as a huge explosion happens. As Deku tries to escape, the dangerous man in a mask is later revealed as someone who looks like All Might.

Aside from the trailer, the anime’s website has also released a new key visual for My Hero Academia: You’re Next. It shows All Might and his golden statue in the middle while surrounded by Deku, Bakugo, Todoroki, Uraraka, and Tensei Ida, attacking him.

What is My Hero Academia: You’re Next about?

Directed by Tensai Okamura, My Hero Academia: You’re Next is an original story by creator Kohei Horikoshi, who also works as the film’s general supervisor and character designer. Set in the same timeline as My Hero Academia Season 7, it will see the former No. 1 hero, All Might, aka the “symbol of peace,” giving his message after defeating the Evil Emperor. It will feature an all-out war between the heroes and villains, where Deku faces Shigara Kosuke after the latter has gained intense powers. After a violent clash, resulting in serious damage to the heroes and the villains, the dead man retreats, but an impending battle is about to begin again. A mysterious fortress emerges and swallows the town, while a man who looks like All Might appears.

You can read the synopsis below:

In a world where humans with supernatural powers, ‘quirks,’ have become commonplace, All Might, the former No. 1 hero known as the ‘symbol of peace,’ uttered this message immediately after he won a deadly battle with the ‘Evil Emperor’ words. Even after All Might retired from his position as No. 1 hero, his heroic will was passed on to Izuku and the rest of Yuei High School's hero class. An all-out war between heroes and villains broke out in the spring of Izuku's second year as a hero. Izuku confronts Shigara Kosuke, who has gained terrifying power, and they clash violently. Both the hero and the enemy (villain) suffered heavy damage, and the battle came to a temporary end with the retreat of the dead man, but the time for a decisive battle where they would face each other again was rapidly approaching. In a society devastated by the effects of all-out war, a mysterious giant fortress suddenly appears and swallows towns and people one after another. Then, a man who resembles a ‘symbol of peace’ stands in front of Izuku and his friends...
