My Hero Academia: Vigilantes Anime Reveals Main Trailer, Visuals & Opening Theme Song

My Hero Academia: Vigilantes will begin broadcasting on Crunchyroll on April 7!

TOHO Animation's YouTube channel and the official accounts of the upcoming My Hero Academia: Vigilantes have released the main trailer, key art, character visuals, and opening theme song details today. Crunchyroll also confirmed that it will stream the anime worldwide as it airs in Japan, and will release new episodes weekly, starting on Monday, April 7. Kocchi no Kento is performing the spin-off anime's opening theme song Kekka Orai. Watch the main trailer for My Hero Academia: Vigilantes here:

The character visuals introduce Kuin Hachisuka (voiced by Sayaka Sembongi), Soga Kugizaki (Kohsuke Toriumi), and Naomasa Tsukauchi (Tokuyoshi Kawashima, reprising his role from the main My Hero Academia anime series).

Studio BONES is animating the My Hero Academia: Vigilantes anime, which is directed by Kenichi Suzuki (JoJo's Bizarre Adventure chief director). Yosuke Kuroda (My Hero Academia) is in charge of the series composition while Takahiko Yoshida (Cells at Work!) is handling the character designs. Yuki Hayashi, Shogo Yamashira and Yuki Furuhashi are composing the music for the anime.

What is My Hero Academia: Vigilantes about?

The anime is based on the My Hero Academia: Vigilantes manga series written by Hideyuki Furuhashi and illustrated by Betten Court. It was first published in Jump GIGA in August 2016 before transferring to Shonen Jump+ later that year. The spin-off series has ended in May 2022 and its chapters have been collected in 15 volumes. The English version of the manga was published by VIZ Media.

Crunchyroll shared a synopsis for My Hero Academia: Vigilantes:

Koichi Haimawari is a dull college student who aspires to be a hero but has given up on his dream. Although 80% of the world’s population has superhuman powers called Quirks, few are chosen to become heroes and protect people. Everything changes for Koichi when he and Pop☆Step are saved by the vigilante Knuckleduster and get recruited to become vigilantes themselves!
