Netflix has released a new teaser trailer and visual for My Happy Marriage Season 2 anime. The new trailer confirms the sequel's release window: January 2025, and it features Miyo Saimori going hand-in-hand with Kioyka Kudou. The first season has put this couple on a level field, but the Taisho era is far from peaceful. With forces still threatening the couple, Miyo Saimori and Kiyoka Kudo will have to work together to overcome the forces after them. Miyo also has to deal with the feelings for her would-be husband. Studio Kinema Citrus, which animated the first season of the anime, will return to animate My Happy Marriage Season 2. Takehiro Kubota will also return to direct, and he will be joined by Masayuki Kojima. Ami Sato will return as script writer alongside Momoka Toyoda, Fuka Ishii, and Misato Hashiba. Shoko Yasuda will once again be in charge of the charcter designs, and Evan Call will compose the music for the anime again.
What is My Happy Marriage about?
My Happy Marriage is based on the light novel series (Japanese: Watashi no Shiawase na Kekkon) written by Akumi Agitogi and illustrated by Tsukiho Tsukioka. Initially published online via the Shōsetsuka ni Narō website, My Happy Marriage was later acquired by Fujimi Shobo, who has released the lseries since January 2019 under their Fujimi L Bunko imprint. Yen Press, which licensed the light novel series in English, shared a plot description for My Happy Marriage:
Born talentless to a noble family famous for their supernatural abilities, Miyo Saimori is forced into an existence of servitude by her abusive stepmother. When Miyo finally comes of marriageable age, though, her hopes of being whisked away to a better life crumble after she discovers her fiancé’s identity: Kiyoka Kudou, a commander apparently so cold and cruel that his previous would-be brides all fled within three days of their engagements. With no home to return to, Miyo resigns herself to her fate—and soon finds that her pale and beautiful husband-to-be is anything but the monster she expected. As they slowly open their hearts to each other, both realize the other may be their chance at finding true love and happiness.
