After saving Lady Lihua in the previous episode, Maomao has another patient to cure in the upcoming My Apothecary Diaries Episode 5. The anime has now released the preview stills and trailer for the new episode, and aside from the in-house pharmacist, it also focuses on the shirtless Jinshi, who seems to be in a fight.
The My Apothecary Diaries Episode 5 trailer, from the anime’s official website, begins with a happy-looking Maomao in the middle of the forest, quickly followed by a scene with Jinshi, who seems to be in deep thought. A mysterious guy is then revealed, and he appears to be in agony. Jinshi and his right hand, Gaoshun, then appear, with the latter bowing behind his master.
From there, the two appear to be having a practice fight on the kingdom’s ground, showing their shirtless bodies in their full glory. Xiaolan seemingly shares a secret with Maomao in the next sequence, while the final scene shows a serious-looking Lady Gyokuyo.
Alternatively, the preview stills feature an intimate scene between Maomao and Jinshi, looking so loved-up as they stare at each other’s eyes. An all-glammed-up Maomao is then revealed, followed by the sweaty and shirtless appearance of Jinshi while holding his weapon.
Maomao is also back in the medicine room and seems to be whipping up a new cure. Next, Lady Gyokuyo is helping Maomao dress up for an event. For the last still, the chibby version of Maomao and Lady Gyokuyo’s maids is revealed.

What to expect from My Apothecary Diaries Episode 5?
After the previous episode saw Maomao finally curing Lady Lihua, she quickly returned to Lady Gyokuyo’s palace to be of service. In My Apothecary Diaries Episode 5, an anxious eunuch visits her in the medicine room and asks her for a cure to break his curse. As good as she is, Maomao soon learns the real reason behind the curse and gives him an ointment.
But Jinshi quickly calls her after seeing what she did. As Maomao returns to Princess Yu Ye's Jade Palace, everyone is already preparing for a big event.

Princess Rika has recovered and Maomao has returned to her usual life at Princess Gyokuyo's palace. One day, while she was in the doctor's office, a very frightened eunuch came to her and asked for medicine to break the curse. Maomao discovers the true nature of the curse that the eunuch is talking about and prescribes an ointment. Then, she was summoned by Jinshi, who saw this. When Mao Mao returned to Princess Yu Ye's Jade Palace, her colleagues were enthusiastically preparing for the garden party.
My Apothecary Diaries Episode 5 will be released on Sunday, November 5, in Japan. International fans can also stream the new episode on Crunchyroll and Netflix in select regions. Aside from Maomao’s great medicinal talent, viewers are also waiting to see her cute scenes with Jinshi. And as Episode 5 is about to show a doll-up Maomao, fans have to wait and see Jinshi’s reaction.
