Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation Season 2 Part 1 just concluded after the release of Episode 12 titled I Want to Tell You, but fans already know that the latest season will be in two-consecutive cour, so fans can expect the second half to arrive in the near future. In fact, it's already confirmed that Part 2 is scheduled to premiere in April 2024, and the production team of the anime has released a special illustration to commemorate Mushoku Tensei's highly-anticipated return.
Hiroki Hirano is directing Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation Season 2, with Sanae Shimada in charge of the character design, Toshiya Ono as the series composer, Yoshiaki Fujisawa as the music composer, and Masakazu Miyake as the art director.
Based on the light novel series by Rifujin na Magonote with illustrations by Shirotaka, the first season of Mushoku Tensei aired over 2 cours during the Winter 2021 and Fall 2021 anime seasons that ran for a total of 23 episodes.
What happened in Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation Season 2 Part 1 finale?
It's not surprising to see Rudeus Greyrat and Sylphiette together in the newly-revealed commemorative illustration after seeing the two share romantic moments in the latest episode. After Sylphie finds out about Rudy's erectile dysfunction problem during his attempt to make love with her in the cave, Sylphie tells Ariel and Luke about his struggle. To help her and Rudy, Luke gives Sylphie an expensive bottle of highly-potent aphrodisiac for Rudy, and Ariel gives her money (her spending money for the month).
At night, Sylphie knocks on Rudy's room, and tells him that she will be staying for the night. After being seprated in Buena Fittoa, the pair finally celebrate their reunion with food and cups of wine. Sylphie talks about how hot water was part of how they met, recalling memories of how Rudy taught her how to cast a spell by the big tree where they used to meet all the time.
Syphie brings out the bottle of aphrodisiac, and Rudy asks her if it's safe to mix with alcohol. She tells him that once the effect of the aphrodisiac kicks in, he doesn't have to hold back. She then grabs the bottle and chugs some of the drug as well. She tells Rudy that she's nervous, and start to feel heated up for each other. Rudy grabs her wrist, calls her name as the cup falls on the ground. Sylphie asks if he can't resist, and Rudeus grab her by the waist. "Please dig in," she whispers to his ear, and Rudeus takes her to his bed, and they make love. Sadly, that scene gets cut off before we get to see them unleash their desires, but it's clear that Rudy has been cured and that he's taken Sylphie's virginity.
Rudeus wakes up the next day, and noticed Sylphie's blood on the bedsheet. Sylphie is not around, and he starts to weep, most likely afraid that she'd leave him just like what the other women did to him before. However, when Sylphie enters his room, and tells him that he just went to thank Princess Ariel and Luke for their help yesterday, Rudy looks relieved, and hugs her tight while crying. He tells her that he's cured, and thanks her with tears falling from his eyes.
The finale concludes with Rudy telling Ariel, the second princess of the Asura Kingdom, that Sylphie was so good as to cure his illness, and that he's told that Ariel helped her to do so, and therefore, he is at the service of Her Highness. When Luke asks about Rudy shying away from the power struggles between Asuran nobles, Rudy tells them that it's true that he'd not rather stick his nose into a political dispute. However, he says that if his beloved is caught in one, that changes matters. Syphie blushes hearing this.
Princess Ariel says that she would appreciate Rudy's support, then asks him what he intends to do. Rudy tells her that he has a duty to find family members lost in the mass teleportation, so he can hardly set out for Asura quite yet. Ariel says that her affairs can wait until he's resolved his own, then asks him again what he intends to do. Rudeus pauses briefly to think, and boldly declares that he will marry Sylphie.
After Ariel and Luke frees Sylphie of her duty, Sylphie tells Rudy to take good care of her, leaves her sunglasses and thanks Ariel and Luke for everything as she happily joins Rudy in a loving relationship.
