Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation Season 2 Episode 22 Preview Teases an Epic Battle vs. A Giant Hydra

In the previous episode of Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation Season 2, Rudeus reunited with Roxy after rescuing her in the teleport labyrinth. While the episode focused on the party's exploration of the dangerous dungeon as they try to go deeper in their mission to rescue Zenith, it also showed sweet moments between Rudeus and his sorcery master, and it looks like Roxy was pleased to see her apprentice again.

The official website of the anime has revealed preview stills and a synopsis for Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation Season 2 Episode 22, titled Parents, and it will feature Rudy and the party facing their most dangerous enemy yet: a giant Hydra. Based on the teaser trailer and the stills, it looks like it will be the most action-packed episode yet as Paul is seen fighting the powerful Hydra while Rudy looks stressed. They've reached the seventh stratum of the labyrinth, and it's clearly going to be a difficult challenge for them to defeat the terrifying monster. One of the stills show Roxy looking shocked, and anime-only fans may finally find out what the Man-God said Rudy will regret if he chooses to take this deadly mission.

Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation Season 2 Episode 22 is scheduled to premiere this Sunday, June 16. Studio Bind is still producing the animation for the popular isekai anime. The official synopsis of the next episode reads:

Rudeus and his friends are transported to the final floor and finally see Zenith! However, a giant Hydra, thought to be the guardian of the labyrinth, stands in their way. The Hydra is a legendary creature thought to be extinct, a formidable enemy also known as the "Demon Dragon"!

Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation Season 2 Part 2 is directed by Ryousuke Shibuya (The Reincarnation of the Strongest Exorcist in Another World), marking the second directional change for the anime series (Season 1 was directed by Onimai‘s Shingo Fujii, and the assistant director of the first season, Hiroki Hirano, directed Season 2 Part 1). As for the returning staff: Toshiya Oono is the series composer once again while Yoshiko Saitou (Kubo Won't Let Me Be Invisible) and Sanae Shimada are the character designers. The art director is Masakazu Miyake, and the music composer is Yoshiaki Fujisawa.

What is Labyrinth Arc of Mushoku Tensei about?

The Labyrinth Arc (迷宮編 Meikyū-hen) is expected to adapt the final chapters of Volume 11 and most likely the entire Volume 12 of the Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation light novel series written Rifujin na Magonote and illustrated by Shirotaka. Seven Seas Entertainment shared an official synopsis for Vol. 12:

Rudeus and Paul must descend into the deadly depths of a Teleportation Labyrinth to rescue Zenith. The father-son duo makes short work of deadly beasts and ancient magical traps, but it's the terrible truth at the Labyrinth's heart that proves the greatest threat of all. What happens when all hope is shattered beyond recall?
