Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation Season 2 Episode 17 Preview: Norn Worries About How to Deal With Rudeus

In last week's episode of Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation Season 2 Part 2, we saw Rudeus reunite with his younger sisters, Norn and Aisha. While Aisha is happy to live with Rudeus and Sylphiette, Norn's relationship with her brother is more complicated, and she decides to live in the dormitory of Ranoa Magic University, which Rudy allows. However, it looks like the drama between the siblings will continue in Episode 17, which is titled Big Brother's Feelings. The official website of the anime has revealed preview stills and a synopsis for the next episode, and things don't seem to look better between Rudy and Norn as the synopsis teases Rudy's shocked reaction to what he hears in Norn's classroom, and we also get a glimpse of Norn's worries on how to deal with her brother.

Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation Season 2 Episode 16 is scheduled to premiere this Sunday, May 1, and Studio Bind is once again producing the animation for the new episodes. The official synopsis of the seventeenth episode of Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation Season 2 reads:

Norn, who started living in the dormitory of Ranoa Magic University, has become a shut-in. Rudeus tries to somehow save Norn by identifying himself with his previous life, and heads to Norn's classroom. Rudeus is shocked by the words he hears there... Norn, on the other hand, was also worried about how to deal with the existence of Rudeus.

The second part of Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation Season 2 is adapting the tenth volume of Rifujin na Magonote's light novel series, which marks the beginning of the Newlyweds Arc. As the title of the arc suggests, the second cour will mostly focus on Rudeus and Sylphy's wedding. It will feature various events such as house hunting and wedding planning, keeping the new couple busy with various tasks as they enjoy their married life.

Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation Season 2 Part 2 is directed by Ryousuke Shibuya (The Reincarnation of the Strongest Exorcist in Another World), marking the second directional change for the anime series (The first season was directed by Onimai‘s Shingo Fujii, and Season 1 assistant director Hiroki Hirano directed Season 2 Part 1). As for the returning staff: Toshiya Oono is the series composer once again while Yoshiko Saitou (Kubo Won't Let Me Be Invisible) and Sanae Shimada are the character designers. The art director is Masakazu Miyake, and the music composer is Yoshiaki Fujisawa.

Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation Season 2 Episode 17 will be available to stream on Crunchyroll and Hulu in the U.S, so expect it to arrive this Sunday, May 5. In fact, you can also watch all the episodes of Season 1 and the first cour of Season 2 on both platforms. The newest anime episodes of Season 2 will air every Sunday, and the second season is confirmed to have a total of 25 episodes (in 2 cours), so we can expect 9 more new episodes coming in the Spring 2024 anime season.

What is Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation anime about?

Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation is based on the popular isekai light novel series written Rifujin na Magonote and illustrated by Shirotaka. The fantasy series began in 2014 and concluded in November 2022 with 26 volumes. It also inspired a manga adaptation and multiple spin-offs. The first volume of the light novel sversion of the Dasoku-hen spin-off was released in June 2023. Seven Seas Entertainment shared a plot description for the series:

Kicked out by his family and wandering the streets, an unemployed 34-year-old shut-in thinks he’s hit rock-bottom—just as he’s hit and killed by a speeding truck! Awakening to find himself reborn as an infant in a world of swords and sorcery, but with the memories of his first life intact, Rudeus Greyrat is determined not to repeat his past mistakes. He’s going to make the most of this reincarnation as he sets off on the adventure of a second lifetime!
