Another trailer for the epic upcoming fighting game Mortal Kombat 1 has recently been released by NetherRealm Studios. The latest trailer confirms the addition of more characters that will be featured on the game’s roster at its launch.

The trailer highlighted Smoke and Rain, two unique characters who have been attached to the Mortal Kombat series for a long time now. Kameo Fighters is a whole new roster of characters in Mortal Kombat 1, and they assist players during a match. So, in the trailer, we could see four new Kameo Fighters: Scorpion, Cyrax, Frost, and Sektor.

Players were first introduced to Smoke in Mortal Kombat 2 as an unplayable secret character. In Mortal Kombat 3, he made his proper debut as a Cyborg, and he finally received a human appearance in 2011’s Mortal Kombat.

His main abilities during a fight are his speed and smoke, as can be seen from the trailer when he strikes his opponent with a dagger and then reappears through a puff of smoke to deliver the final blow.

On the other hand, Rain was introduced as a gag character in Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3, mainly intended to deceive players into thinking he was unlockable. However, he was finally introduced for real in the console versions later on.

He later became a playable character in Mortal Kombat: Armageddon and Mortal Kombat (2011). Being a half-god, Rain has the ability to control lightning and water, and in the trailers, we can see him abusing Scorpion with his powers of water bending.

In the rest of the trailer, we can see Smoke, Scorpion, and Frost working together to break into a compound. Aside from this latest trailer, NetherRealm Studios has released multiple other gameplay videos alongside a high-level battle between Scorpion and Johnny Cage.

The game was revealed in May amidst an earning call held by Warner Bros. Discovery, NetherRealm’s parent company. Mortal Kombat 1 is a sequel to 2019’s Mortal Kombat 11. However, it will also be a reboot, as NetherRealm previously stated, "will introduce a reborn Mortal Kombat Universe."

Mortal Kombat 1 will release on September 19 for Xbox Series X/S, PC, Nintendo Switch, and PS5. So, fans of the game need to wait a little more time before they get to rip someone’s guts apart or tear them in half.
