
Today, localizatino provider Iyuno has announced the main cast of the upcoming TV anime adaptation of Tsurumaikada's sports drama manga series Medalist. Jonathon Ha and Madeline Dorroh will voice the lead characters Tsukasa Akeuraji and Inori Yuitsuka, respectively, in the official English dub of the anime. Medalist anime is set to release on Hulu in the United States simultaneously with the subbed version, starting on January 4, 2025, and it will be available to stream on Disney+ internationally.

In the original Japanese version of Medalist anime, Inori and Tsukasa are voiced by Kana Ichinose (Kaoru Ryuzaki from Idolm@ster Cinderella Girls Theater) and Yama Ichida (Aqua from Oshi no Ko, Jinshi from The Apothecary Diaries), respectively.
Studio ENGI is producing the animation for Medalist anime, with Yasutaka Yamamoto as director. Chinatsu Kameyama is in charge of the character designs, and Jukki Hanada worked on the series composition and screenplay.

What is Medalist about?
The sports drama anime is based on the award-winning Medalist manga series written and illustrated by Tsurumaikada, and it has been serialized in Kodansha’s Monthly Afternoon since May 2020. As of December 2022, the series has been compiled into seven volumes The manga series won at the 68th Shogakukan Manga Award for the general category. Kodansha USA published the official English version of Medalist manga, and the publisher has been releasing it since May 2021. Kodansha shared a plot description for Medalist:
Tsukasa, whose dreams were crushed. Inori, left to fend for herself. These two share a dream…and their tenacity may be the only thing that sees them through. Their destination? The ice…on the world’s stage!
