Mayonaka Punch New Anime Trailer, Visual & Release Date

The upcoming original anime Mayonaka Punch has released a new trailer and visual as well as a confirmation that the series is set to have its Japanese premiere on July 8, 2024 at 22:30 JST. The trailer also previews the anime's opening themes song, Gimme Gimme, performed by cast members Fairouz Ai (Live), Yuina Ito (Ichiko), Hina Yomiya (Fu), Hitomi Ueda (Tokage) and Ai Kayano (Yuki) as their respective characters. The ending theme song Henshuuten is performed by Ikumi Hasegawa, the voice actor of the protagonist Masaki.

Mayonaka Punch, an original video content creation-themed TV anime, was officially announced in January 2024 and released its first trailer in March. The second trailer reveals that Live is actually a vampire. Masaki believes that Live's supernatural powers could be what she needs to reach her goal of hitting a million subscribers, so she agrees to give herself up to Live if she reaches her goal.

Studio P.A. Works is producing the animation for Mayonaka Punch, with Shu Honma (Ya Boy Kongming!) as director, and Hideaki Shirasaka (Ya Boy Kongming! co-scriptwriter) as the script writer. Tsukasa Kotobuki's original character designs are being adapted for animation by Ryota Arima (Hell’s Paradise co-chief animation director).

What is Mayonaka Punch about?

Mayonaka Punch follows Masaki, a member of the NewTuber group "Harakiri Sisters", who got fired due to an incident. Masaki then meets Live while trying to make a comeback. Thanks to Live's supernatural abilities, Masaki is able to make videos that could help her reach one million channel subscribers.

A manga adaptation by Tomomi Usui started serialization in Kadokawa Shoten's Young Ace magazine in March 2024. A light novel adaptation written by Tsuzuro Hibi and illustrated by Tsukasa Kotobuki i is also confirmed to be seralized under the Fujimi Fantasia Bunko imprint.
